The FCC says Michael Dudley was operating an unlicensed radio station in Guntersville, AL, and is a repeat offender who warrants a “significant penalty.” Here are the details…

The first complaint about Dudley came in April when it was found he was operating a pirate station at 103.9 from his residence. An agent verbally warned Dudley that it’s illegal to operate a radio station without a valid FCC license. Dudley said he was out of town but would turn off the transmitter when he returned the next day. Dudley volunteered to surrender his transmitter to the Commission.

In July, another complaint came in, this time at 107.9. Agents discovered that pirate station was also originating from Dudley’s home but this time he refused to turn off the station. He said people in his area wanted him on the air. Dudley also told the Commission that since he could not apply for a license because no Commission application window was open, his “hands were tied,” and that he would continue to operate. As a result of the repeated offenses, the Commission has issued Dudley a $15,000 Notice of Apparent Liability, which you can read in its entirety HERE.
