The Broadcasters Foundation of America raised $200,0000 during its Celebrity Golf Fundraiser, held recently in New Jersey. Chairman Dan Mason said, “The funds come at a time when more broadcasters than ever are in need of assistance. Just recently, we helped 85 colleagues affected by the Louisiana floods with emergency grants of $1,000 each, and requests are now rolling in from broadcasters impacted by Hurricane Matthew.”

Foundation President Jim Thompson added, “We are pacing to distribute $850,000 in monthly and emergency grants this year. We are very grateful to our sponsors and to those who gave of their time to make this year’s Celebrity Golf Fundraiser a success.”

The golf tournament is one of the Foundation’s major fundraisers and supports its mission to provide monthly and emergency financial assistance to broadcasters in need.
