2016 Will Be Huge Success For Ad Spending

Advertising Age has the details about the latest Magna Global report. The firm now expects 2016 to see the largest increase in ad spending in the U.S. in six years. Magna revised its forecast for the year this week and now expects ad revenue to grow to $179 billion, a 6.3% increase. In June, Magna forecast a 6.2% increase. In 2010 the U.S. saw a 6.6% increase. Excluding ad revenue from the election and Olympics, growth would be 4.4%.

Magna’s revision comes following a stronger-than-expected first six months of this year when ad revenue jumped close to 7%. It was the strongest first quarter of growth in over a decade. National TV was up 4.6%, digital increased 18.3% and out-of-home grew 3.8%. Print was down 9% and radio down 2%.

If you want to learn how to get a bigger piece of the advertising pie in 2017 you MUST attend Radio Ink’s Forecast 2017 in New York City next month. Forecast is the only conference of its kind in radio. The event gathers radio owners, CFOs, group executives, managers and Wall Street analysts to discuss conditions and predictions for the coming year.
