Sterling Calls 4,453 Consecutive Yankees Games

Newsday did the math and came to the conclusion that Yankees radio announcer John Sterling has called 4,453 consecutive games. It’s a streak that spans 28 baseball seasons. Before joining the Yankees’ radio broadcast team, Sterling called Atlanta Hawks and Braves games from 1981-89. In the 1970s, he was a sports talk host in New York on WMCA and also called New York Nets games for six years and Islanders games for four years. Picture courtesy New York Newsday
