It’s a newly created position for Smith, who gets promoted from VP of Sales to GM for two Cumulus FMs: Hot AC WDVD-FM and Country WDRQ-FM. Smith had been VP of Sales since August 2014. Prior to that, he was GSM for CBS Radio in Detroit, where he also held positions including Director of National Sales and GSM during his 14 years there. Tom O’Brien is VP/GM over the AM in the market, WJR, and the relationship the company has with the NFL’s Detroit Lions.
