In Radio Ink’s 2016 40 Most Powerful People in Radio issue, out this week, you’ll be reading many quotes like this one from radio’s most powerful. This powerful quote about management and leadership comes from a CEO that has been on our list every year since 1997. His philosophy on leading people to success, and his commitment to communities around the country and the entire broadcasting industry are just a few reasons he’ll appear on our list once again. Here’s his quote…

“Over the years in our industry, I have encountered a lot of effective leaders with a variety of management styles and with different skill sets but with some common traits.   Most effective leaders commit the time and energy necessary to make good decisions. That process is usually demanding and agonizing, and the agony is usually in direct proportion to the significance and impact of the issue.   It is a given that the quality of our lives and the success of our businesses is in direct proportion to the quality of our decision making. Many failed projects can be traced to a failure to do the required due diligence, to turn over every rock, and to repeatedly test every assumption. I have often reminded my leadership team that the world rises and falls on details—that empires collapse on details.”
