The Details On The Gow Flip to SB Nation

As of August 1, Gow Media will change the sports brand it’s aligned with from Yahoo! Sports Radio to SB Nation, in a new partnership with Vox Media which owns the SB Nation brand. The two companies will collaborate to develop and distribute audio content, available across SB Nation’s community of over 300 digital properties, as well as Gow Media radio affiliates.

Gow Media has been operating as Yahoo! Sports Radio, in partnership with Yahoo! Sports, since 2011. Gow purchased Sporting News Radio in 2010 before changing to Yahoo Sports Radio in 2011. Prior to the Sporting News purchase the network was called One on One Sports. Gow does not expect any major changes to be made to its current on-air lineup.

SB Nation Editorial Operations VP Kevin Lockland said of the new deal, “The creation of SB Nation Radio is an exciting extension for the SB Nation brand, and the reach of our community of reporters and fans, to a new platform that is such a natural fit for sports coverage and commentary.

SB Nation and Gow Media will collaborate to produce new original audio programming, including new podcast franchises, and various on-air show formats. SB Nation Radio will feature editorial talent from SB Nation, including Spencer Hall, Paul Flannery, Dan Rubenstein, Ariel Helwani, Thomas George, as well as experts from some of SB Nation’s 300 team-specific communities, which will join Gow Media’s existing 24/7 programming lineup.

In addition to Gow Media’s network of over 500 terrestrial and satellite stations, the companies will promote and distribute SB Nation Radio across digital platforms, including SB Nation’s existing properties and external platforms, Gow Media’s Podcastarena.com, and through other digital partners.

“SB Nation Radio will stand apart among the older legacy brands in the sports radio network landscape. This is not your grandfather’s sports radio network,” said David Gow, CEO, Gow Media. “SB Nation is young, fast paced, and digitally savvy. This is the tone and energy audiences will hear on SB Nation Radio.” Gow Media has been operating as Yahoo! Sports Radio, in partnership with Yahoo! Sports, since 2011 and will rebrand on August 1 as SB Nation Radio.

  1. The Seinfeld show was awesome and beloved. Imagine the show continuing on without Jerry Seinfeld. This is what your joke of a Morning show has become. What made Solly great was the feeding off of Czabe, same goes for Scott who in my eyes doesn’t belong on the show anyway.
You have run aground with a very talented cast, cut the heart out and tossed it back on the street.
I only hope and pray that the listeners speak up and tune out. I for one will not listen and have deleted the ap and encourage the nation to do the same.
Advertisers that stick with this vanilla bland show are “SUCKERS” keep flushing your money down the toilet. I won’t be a part of this crap!
