The station in Kerrville, Texas, which is about 65 miles from San Antonio, is owned by the Ranch Radio Group. Police say 52-year-old KRNH employee Sherry Ruth Francis was killed in a random act of violence in the station parking lot.
Police have arrested Gilbert Manriquez who they say had no association with Francis or the station. During questioning, authorities say Manriquez confessed to killing Francis and said he thought he was at a house to get drugs.
A post on the station website states: “All of us at the Ranch are shocked at this random act of violence. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends and loved ones. Respecting their privacy, we will not comment on any details of this tragedy.”
