It’s a purchase Spotify says will help build out the tools it provides to artists who use Spotify to grow their listeners and overall business. The company is called CrowdAlbum. It aggregates photos and videos from music events that have been shared on social media to create what it describes as “visual histories.” According to TechCrunch CrowdAlbum has been around since 2013, had raised only $100,000 and worked with about 1,000 artists including Lil Wayne and Fallout Boy.
