Forecast 2017 will be held November 16, 2016 at the Harvard Club in New York.

Radio Ink Publisher Deborah Parenti says, “We are extremely excited to have Dan Mason and Julie Talbott serve as co-chairs of Forecast 2017. Both are highly respected industry professionals who will add greatly to the direction of this year’s agenda, particularly as we look toward next year’s political, business, and financial prospects and their impact on our industry.”

Mason_Dan16E-MailMason, who led CBS Radio from 2007-2015, says, “Radio Ink Forecast always is a good forum for leaders to come together to set the stage for the months ahead. The gathering of the minds provides a good exchange of actionable ideas that can be delivered back to the individual markets to monetize for 2017.”

Talbott adds, “I’m excited to serve as co-chair of Forecast 2017 with Dan Mason. OurTalbott_Julie16E-mail industry has done an exceptional job thinking about the future of radio, but it’s important to continue sharing ideas and developing strategies that showcase the power and effectiveness of America’s number one mass-reach medium. Forecast 2017 is a day where we can come together and focus on increasing the value of radio and securing an even bigger share of the media mix.”

Mason earlier served as president of CBS Radio from 1995-2002, integrating the original CBS, Group W, Infinity, and American Radio Systems stations into a smoothly running and profitable group. His aggressive growth strategy at CBS Radio included the launch of new formats at dozens of stations, the acquisition of FMs in New York, DC, Philadelphia, and Miami, and the creation of CBS Sports Radio. Under Mason’s leadership, CBS Radio also expanded its digital presence, building audio streaming platforms Radio.com and Play.it, creating mobile applications that allow listeners to interact with stations on the go, and expanding the use of online video to complement over-the-air programming. Mason is also currently chairman of the Broadcasters Foundation of America, and in January 2016 he joined the CBS Sports Network team as a radio and TV analyst specializing in women’s college basketball.

Julie Talbott began her career in advertising at BBDO, but her love of radio ultimately took her to MJI Broadcasting, where she spent 19 years. When Premiere Networks acquired MJI Broadcasting, Talbott joined Premiere as senior vice president of integrated marketing solutions, focusing on advertising sponsorships. In 2003, she was promoted to EVP/affiliate relations, overseeing a staff that increased affiliations for programs hosted by Jim Rome, Glenn Beck, George Noory, Bob and Tom, Steve Harvey, Keith Sweat, Elvis Duran, and others. In 2009, Talbott was named president, content and affiliate relations for Premiere Networks, then in 2012 extended that title to the National Media Groups division of Clear Channel Media and Entertainment (now known as iHeartMedia). In January 2014, she was promoted to president of Premiere Networks. In her current role, Talbott continues to oversee the operation of Premiere Networks’ roster of more than 90 radio programs and services, while managing business partnerships with talent and leading and maintaining key affiliate relationships to sell and service Premiere Networks and Total Traffic & Weather Network.

Every year, Forecast gathers radio owners, CFOs, group executives, managers, and Wall Street analysts to discuss conditions and predictions for the coming year. At the only conference of its kind in radio, attendees hear about trends and opportunities, and meet the trendsetters. Though the primary focus is on the numbers, this conference examines the information that drives the numbers. The conference has a “no press” policy that encourages more wide-ranging and open exchange of information and predictions.

In addition to the financial conference, all registered attendees are admitted to the annual “Top 40” cocktail reception, a prestigious event in itself, honoring Radio Ink’s 40 Most Powerful People in Radio.
