Bloom Loses Job Over Budget Cuts

Andy Bloom was #11 on Radio Ink‘s 2015 Best PD’s in America list. He’s been in radio since the 1970s when he was a teenager. He programmed his 10-watt high-school radio station in the late ’70s. His first programming gig was WQFM in Milwaukee, months after graduating college. With the exception of four years he spent working in Congress between 2003 and 2007, Bloom’s been involved in some sort of programming since then, whether at the individual station level, consulting, group level, or as a researcher. On Friday he was fired by CBS and did not respond to our request for comment. He was the Operations Manager for Sportsradio 94.1 WIP and 1210 WPHT. They are speculating as to why Bloom was fired at The Philadelphia Business Journal and on Kyle Scott’s Philadelphia blog
