As of January 4, Kirby Wilbur will host the midmorning slot on Seattle’s Talk Radio 570 KVI, replacing Glenn Beck. Wilbur will team with KVI morning drive host John Carlson in the 9 a.m. hour and take over solo 10 to noon. After 16 years on KVI, much of it as morning host, Wilbur stepped away from radio for six years. He was the first state director of Americans for Prosperity, chaired the state Republican Party, and headed the National Journalism Center in suburban Washington DC.

PD Rick Van Cide said, “It’s clear our listeners want more local conservative conversation on Seattle radio. And who better to have back-to-back than two of the original Northwest conservative voices who made KVI great.”

  1. The reason why he stepped away from radio for 6 years is because previous management at KVI declined to renew his last contract.
